D.C. Pics

The second Sunday we got here, Doug and I went with our friends Rob and Jessie to go site-seeing in D.C. After getting on the wrong metro train, we finally stepped off into our nation's capitol to find that it was pouring down rain, and didn't calm down anytime soon. So we dashed into the National Air and Space Museum and watched an IMAX on Jet fighter pilots - guys choice, but it was really cool. We then bought ponchos and umbrellas and made our way to the Museum of natural history. The rain didn't stop us. We had a blast and even ended the day running through the metro stop up and down the stairs to try to catch our train home so we didn't have to wait another 20 minutes. Jessie and I were running after the boys laughing and yelling that there was no way we were going to make it...and we didn't. It just proves yet again, that patience truly is a virtue. But really it added to the hilarity of the entire day.

Wedding Pics

I realized that Doug and I never posted any picture of our wedding since we started this months after, so I decided better late then never...actually its quite typical for our style, we are quite the procrastinators. So here are a few of our favorite wedding photos. To see the whole bunch of them you can go to: www.weddingimagesonline.com, type Cassie Baze into Search Box. Then type in weddings into the login. Yep that's it. Tada!

Doug's Kite Surfing Day

Oh what a day this was. This was such sweet vindication to me that Doug was not automatically perfect at everything he attempted to do...that even for him, some things take practice to get right. I think the pictures pretty much paint a picture, but just to give you a little background, Doug asked his friend to let him borrow his kite and surf board to go kite surfing. He asked his friends to give him some pointers since this was his first time, but was convinced he'd catch on pretty quickly -like always. Well here is the way it actually went down: Doug got all harnessed up, watched his friend fly the kite, then he got behind it, a woman walked awkwardly around the kite strings almost tripping over them, which distracted Doug and led to him flying the huge kite into a tree! When the kite was retrieved, there was a huge tear down the center of the kite. It was funny but sad at the same time, funny for me, but sad because you could tell he was embarrassed that he ripped his friends kite and disappointed that he didn't even get out to the water. All in all it was still a fun day, and provided for a good story if nothing else!
