Oh what a day this was. This was such sweet vindication to me that Doug was not automatically perfect at everything he attempted to do...that even for him, some things take practice to get right. I think the pictures pretty much paint a picture, but just to give you a little background, Doug asked his friend to let him borrow his kite and surf board to go kite surfing. He asked his friends to give him some pointers since this was his first time, but was convinced he'd catch on pretty quickly -like always. Well here is the way it actually went down: Doug got all harnessed up, watched his friend fly the kite, then he got behind it, a woman walked awkwardly around the kite strings almost tripping over them, which distracted Doug and led to him flying the huge kite into a tree! When the kite was retrieved, there was a huge tear down the center of the kite. It was funny but sad at the same time, funny for me, but sad because you could tell he was embarrassed that he ripped his friends kite and disappointed that he didn't even get out to the water. All in all it was still a fun day, and provided for a good story if nothing else!

that is pretty funny. don't let him fool you, he isn't always mr.smooth, doing everything without trying!! that is really funny. love the pictures
